EVAW today welcomed the announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer of £20 million of government funding to support work on domestic violence and abuse.
The Chancellor also announced the renewal of the Tampon Tax money which will be £12million over the year.
This money is desperately needed in the context of cuts to many specialist services and increased levels of reporting of violence against women and girls.
EVAW calls on the government to ensure these welcome announcements are part of a picture of secure, long term, appropriate levels of funding across the country for the full spectrum of life saving services that women rely on.
