Today (Friday 13th) women’s groups, activists and anti-trump demonstrators protest against the visit of US President Donald Trump to the UK, by marching to Parliament Square.

Organised by the Women’s March London, the protest starts at 12pm outside BBC Portland Place and arrives in Parliament Square at 2pm.

Thousands of protesters armed with pots, pans, drums and their voices will #BringTheNoise to speak out against Trump’s brutal attacks on human rights.

As Sarah Green, Co-Director of the End Violence Against Women, says: “Trump is a self-described abuser of women, he has made light of his own locker-room chat which minimises the behaviour which harms millions of women every year. This minimising of women’s everyday experiences with sexism and misogyny isn’t something that should be ignored or tolerated.”

Trump has put the lives of thousands of women across the world in danger, denying many the right to an abortion through the ‘global gag rule’. The policy stops US Aid being spent on abortion-related activities, despite evidence from the World Health Organisation that at least 22,000 women die from abortion-related complications every year.

His inhumane policies have been felt everywhere. Muslims have been banned from entering the US, his brutal immigration policy has seen babies separated from their parents at borders, LGBT communities have been denied rights and he has even insulted people with disabilities.

Audre Lorde once said, “your silence will not protect you.” We urge you to join us to #BringTheNoise against Donald Trump’s visit to London. Find out how you can support the Women’s March London here
